I Hate To Say I Told You So!

I know that volunteers in the animal rescue community sound like broken records, always saying "Don't Breed or Buy While Pound Puppies Die!", but we have our reasons, and here is one of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhjqBsOCiPs.

This undercover video is of an Indiana Amish Puppymill. Yes, one of those cruel and inhumane places that you have heard us speak of so often. You will probably find this video distressing, and I sincerely hope you do.

You should!

In it you will see dogs who live their entire lives imprisoned in small cages, and living in their own filth. Dogs who are never able to run, play, bond with other animals, roll in the grass, bask in the sunshine, or receive affection. In it you will see cruelty, sadness, and desperation.

You will see a hypocritical and callous, "God-fearing man" who talks casually of his cruelty; of shooting unwanted dogs with a gun, or of killing them with an overdose of medicine. You will hear him tell how the USDA inspectors do nothing to enforce the Animal Welfare Act, and how he cheats on his taxes each year by not reporting cash transactions.

These people will not shut down these puppymills voluntarily. They will only stop when an educated and humane nation no longer makes it profitable for them to stay in business.
